We get access to surveillance cameras.

Today, an interesting, and not requiring special skills, way of gaining access to some video surveillance cameras of one’s own city or another’s got to our review. It is very convenient when you need to find out what time your gym is empty, or if there are free tables in your favorite cafe. Interestingly, for this kind of hack, a hacker may need only a laptop with the Internet, and nothing more.

Looking ahead, I’ll say that I won’t give links to hacker software. All software is freely available. We will say the names of the programs, but a little later.

How do IP cameras work?
Wireless surveillance cameras operate on the principle of continuous online video broadcasting from the camera itself to the IP video server, and from it to the user. If desired, using certain software, video recording can be saved to a computer.

What is important - the vast majority of surveillance cameras transmits data to the user via the Wi-Fi network, and at the same time uploads the video to the Internet. You can access such a camera remotely, without the need for a preliminary connection to its local network.

Actually, now we will do it.

What do we need?
To carry out such an operation, you will need to download everything three programs : VNC scanner, HIKKA, iVMS .

Vnc scanner - Legal software for port scanning. It will be used by us to split the IP range into separate IP addresses, given the port.

Hikka - This is already a little illegal software that will select usernames and passwords for IP cameras for us, as well as take a preliminary screenshot of the cameras that it will crack.

iVMS - A program for direct access to cameras, and further viewing the broadcast.

When all the software has already been downloaded and checked for viruses, we can move on to the practical part.

1. First, find out the IP address ranges of your city. The most convenient site that offers such a service is 4it.me.

-Go to the site, on the left, select the "IP Ranges" section.

-In the field that appears, enter the name of the city, and confirm the entered.

-Copy the appeared ranges to the clipboard.

2. Open the VNC scanner, paste the previously copied ranges into the field on the left, set the ports to 8000 (this is the port that CCTV cameras use) and click “Start scan”.

3. Now the console should open, in which the process of finding IP addresses will be described. This process can take a very long time, but it can go quickly. It all depends on the number of IP ranges.

4. After the console closes, in the program window, click on the "Start parser" button.

5. In the folder with the program, the file “IPs.txt” should appear, where the received addresses are listed in order. We copy them, and go to the HIKKA program folder.

6. Using Notepad ++, edit the hosts file, which is located in the program directory.

7. Start the batch file “start.bat”, and the hacking process has started!

8. The received logins are stored in the logins file, and the passwords in passwords. These files can also be viewed using Notepad ++.

9. In the iVMS program, we connect to the cameras using the received logins and passwords. To know which cameras we are interested in, look in the HIKKA directory, in the pics folder. There will be screenshots from cameras that are signed by logins.

Now you know how easy it is to get access to all CCTV cameras in your city. True, if this is so simple - can we be sure that this method will not turn against us? We hope that no one will use the information received to the detriment of others. Well, maximum for personal self-satisfaction.
