Следственный комитет России пресек деятельность преступной группы, занимавшейся хищением и незаконным сбытом высококачественного алмазного сырья и бриллиантов. Как сообщила в понедельник пресс-служба ведомства, непосредственно хищением алмазов в АК "Алроса" занималась сотрудница этой компании Елена Канунникова.
В преступную группу входили также посредник, гражданин России и Грузии Владимир Таюидзе и россиянин Владимир Гординский, отвечавший за сбыт похищенных драгоценных камней. По версии следствия, группа осуществляла преступную деятельность на постоянной основе.

6 июня все участники были задержаны с поличным следователями СК совместно с сотрудниками ФСБ России при попытке хищения очередной партии алмазов.
При обысках в домах задержанных были обнаружены около 500 необработанных природных алмазов общей массой более двух тысяч карат и 11 бриллиантов на общую сумму более трех миллионов долларов США. Кроме того, изъяты более двух миллионов долларов, 500 тысяч ЕВРО и ювелирная продукция известных мировых брендов, в том числе более 30 часов, инкрустированных бриллиантами.
Главным управлением по расследованию особо важных дел СК России в отношении участников преступной группы возбуждено уголовное дело. Троица обвиняется в совершении краж и незаконном обороте природных драгоценных камней.
По ходатайству следствия судом в отношении обвиняемых избрана мера пресечения в виде заключения под стражу. По уголовному делу проводятся следственные действия.
