June 10 at about 3 a.m. in Rostov-on-Don a terrible accident occurred: on the street. B. 10 июня около 3 часов ночи в Ростове-на-Дону произошла страшная авария: на ул. Б. Садовая, на участке от Ворошиловского до Кировского проспектов, автомобиль Porsche Cayenne, гос. номер О 530 ОО, протаранил более 6 машин. На перекрестке Б. Садовой и пр. Кировского ожидал зеленый свет автомобиль ВАЗ 2106. Porsche врезался в ВАЗ 2106 и протащил его ещё около 50 метров, пока на пути этой махине не встретились припаркованные автомобили. В результате ВАЗ оказался смятым в «лепёшку». Водитель ВАЗа, 23 летний студент РИЖТа Игорь Вербенко, скончался практически мгновенно. Тело погибшего извлекали из оставшейся от ВАЗа груды металла более 1 часа. По прибытии на место ДТП сотрудников ДПС выяснилось, что за рулем Porsche Cayenne находился ОСТРОВЕНКО Дмитрий Григорьевич – депутат городской Думы от партии «Единая Россия», начальник комиссии по бюджету города, местным налогам и сборам, муниципальной собственности. Островенко оказался в стельку пьян и едва стоял на ногах, на месте пытался подкупить сотрудников ДПС. Собравшаяся толпа людей чуть не устроила самосуд, но доблестные полицейские всячески, как могли, защищали народного избранника.
