Before traveling by taxi, customers will also be provided with another safety service: they can indicate the approximate time it takes to arrive at the right place. After the specified period has elapsed, an “alarm” is triggered - law enforcement officers immediately try to contact the client to clarify his whereabouts, or with his relative.
In order to take this opportunity to ensure personal security, a mobile user will need to register and be sure to indicate the phone number of one of the next of kin. Downloading the service to your phone is free of charge.
After the trip in a taxi, the client will be able to send his opinion about the provided transportation services. It will go to the general data bank, which will be constantly updated.
The authorities of the Mexican capital are planning to introduce such a service in the near future in order to further increase the safety of residents of the city using public transport. 130 thousand taxis officially registered in the city are included in the data bank. The introduction of the new program will allow the Mexican authorities to increase the effectiveness of the fight against “pirate taxis” and at the same time achieve a further decrease in crime in this form of transport, experts say.
In the capital of Mexico, crimes often occur, the victims of which are taxi passengers, especially at a later time. The police recommend that residents of the city use the services of only those carriers that have an official license and a logo issued by the authorities, which is usually attached to the windows of the cabin. However, the implementation of these recommendations does not always guarantee a "safe ride" by taxi. Therefore, the introduction of a new service for mobile users, many locals consider it very useful to improve their safety while using taxi services.
