Украина в ближайшие 2 года поменяет основную орбитальную позицию для вещания своих спутниковых каналов. Такой вывод можно сделать из соглашения, подписанного между ГП «Укркосмос» и французским Eutelsat, являющимся крупнейшим спутниковым провайдером в Европе и владельцем одного из крупнейших в мире флотов спутников непосредственного вещания. Согласно соглашению, о факте подписания которого было объявлено накануне, первый украинский спутник непосредственного вещания «Лыбидь» после своего вывода на орбиту в 2013 г. займет позицию 48 гр. E, пристроившись к двум спутникам Eutelsat 48A/48B, находящимся в той же точке.
Как отмечают в «Укркосмосе», «переговоры между ГП «Укркосмос» и Eutelsat S.A. о предоставлении частотного ресурса в орбитальной позиции 48 гр.E проходили в течение года и завершились в феврале 2012 г. подписанием Координационного соглашения между Администрациями связи Украины и Франции. Таким образом, ГП «Укркосмос» удалось решить вопрос о частотно-орбитальной позиции для запуска первого украинского телекоммуникационного спутника «Лыбидь».
