In the Lithuanian Panevezys, a cat brought a pasta bag to a local prisoner with a mobile phone in it. An unusual courier was discovered by a police officer who drew attention to an animal that came to visit a prisoner, Interfax reports citing Panevezys law enforcement agencies.
The cat came to the yard of the evaporation institution in the evening. On the monitor, which displays the image from the CCTV cameras, he was seen by the duty officer of the Detention and Convoy Bureau of the Public Order Bureau of the Main Commissariat of the City Police. According to the agency, usually the police do not pay any attention to animals entering the prison yard, but the courier cat behaved very unusual, which made the representative of law enforcement agencies look at himself.
The fact is that a well-groomed and well-fed animal proceeded right in the direction of one of the cells (in it the prisoners are serving an administrative arrest) and sat down under the window of the room. Apparently, noticing the cat, the prisoner stuck out a newspaper folded into a tube from the cell window (for which this was done, it is not specified). The cat was not afraid of the newspaper and remained seated, waiting for further action by the recipient of the parcel.
However, the animal wasn’t able to transfer the package with pasta and a mobile phone - the “postman” was picked up by the duty officer who monitored his actions. The policeman took the bag from the cat and found a parcel in it. How the package was fixed on the body of the cat, the agency does not indicate.
The further fate of the animal is not reported. It is also unknown whether any failed recipient of the cellphone will face any sanctions.

В литовском Паневежисе кот принес заключенному местной тюрьмы пакет с макаронами, в котором лежал мобильный телефон. Необычного курьера обнаружил сотрудник полиции, обративший внимание на животное, пришедшее навестить арестанта, сообщает «Интерфакс» со ссылкой на правоохранительные органы Паневежиса.

Видимо, заметив кота, заключенный высунул из окна камеры свернутую в трубочку газету (для чего это было сделано, не уточняется). Кот не испугался газеты и остался сидеть на месте, ожидая дальнейших действий получателя посылки.
Однако передать пакет с макаронами и мобильником животному так и не удалось — «почтальона» забрал дежурный, следивший за его действиями. Полицейский отобрал у кота пакет и обнаружил в нем посылку. Каким образом пакет был закреплен на теле кота, агентство не указывает.
О дальнейшей судьбе животного ничего не сообщается. Также неизвестно, грозят ли несостоявшемуся получателю мобильника какие-либо санкции.
