Boris Abramovich Ratushny, Advisor to the President of the IAPD, President of the Federation of Tempering and Winter Swimming of St. Petersburg, continuing the topic of extracting information from open sources, told how, even before the revolution, scientist D.I. Менделеев не имея интернета смог определить состав взрывчатых веществ, используемых в снарядах. Он это сделал, применяя данные железной дороги: сколько составов поступает в месяц, из каких городов и т.д.
Докладчик также отметил, что когда-то она работал на оборонном предприятии «Аврора», у них были ограничения по написанию писем. Такое условие существовало потому, что предприятие было секретным. Так вот, как и многие другие предприятия, сотрудников «Авроры» отправляли на работу на овощную базу. При входе там висел огромный щит, на котором были перечислены все оборонные предприятия Выборгского района. Таким образом, используя данные на этом щите, можно было узнать полный список секретных организаций, расположенных в этом районе.
