At a currency exchange, angry tourists are informed that this is not a course at all, but the price of a magnet in the form of a flag of a country. As scammers say, the law does not prohibit exchange offices selling souvenirs. So, opposite the US flag is the number 1.4 (lev to the US dollar - 1.34). Tourists believe that in this exchanger a lucrative deal awaits them. And only later it turns out that 1.4 leva is worth a magnet with the image of the US flag, and the exchange rate is much lower.
In the resort of Burgas, at least 15% of exchangers use this trick, writes RATA-News. The outrage of tourists caused inspections of exchange offices by inspectors of the National Revenue Agency of Bulgaria and the police.
