A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg against a police investigator detained while taking a bribe from a participant in a traffic accident a year ago, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region said.
The reason for carrying out operational activities in relation to the senior investigator for the internal affairs department of the Main Investigative Department at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region was the statement of a citizen who a year ago became a participant in an accident that caused serious bodily harm. A year later, the senior investigator of the Department of Investigation of Crimes Against Traffic Safety, the GSU, who did not participate in the investigation of this accident, contacted one of its participants. He promised to institute criminal proceedings against him if he did not pay him 350 thousand rubles.
During the negotiations, the parties agreed on 200 thousand rubles. Immediately after this, the man made a statement to the service of his own security at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. It was decided to conduct an operational experiment.
As a result, on the evening of April 9, 2012, the investigators at house 35 on Nevsky Prospekt detained the senior investigator red-handed while receiving 200,000 rubles from the applicant.
Today, a criminal case was instituted against him under part 5 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The investigator was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

В Санкт-Петербурге возбуждено уголовное дело в отношении следователя полиции, задержанного при получении взятки от участника ДТП годовой давности, сообщила пресс-служба ГУ МВД России по Санкт-Петербургу и Ленинградской области.
Поводом для проведения оперативных мероприятий в отношении старшего следователя по ОВД Главного следственного управления при ГУ МВД России по Санкт-Петербургу и Ленобласти послужило заявление гражданина, который год назад стал участником ДТП, повлекшего тяжкие телесные повреждения. Спустя год старший следователь Управления по расследованию преступлений против безопасности дорожного движения ГСУ, который не принимал участие в расследовании данной аварии, связался с одним из ее участников. Он пообещал возбудить против него уголовное дело, если тот не заплатит ему 350 тысяч рублей.
В ходе переговоров стороны сошлись на 200 тысячах рублей. Сразу после этого мужчина обратился с заявлением в службу собственной безопасности ГУ МВД России по Санкт-Петербургу и Ленобласти. Было принято решение о проведении оперативного эксперимента.
В результате вечером 9 апреля 2012 года оперативники у дома 35 по Невскому проспекту задержали старшего следователя с поличным при получении 200000 рублей от заявителя.
Сегодня на него было возбуждено уголовное дело по ч.5 ст.290 УК РФ. Следователь задержан в порядке статьи 91 УПК РФ.
