Among them 10 children. 26 people were hospitalized in various hospitals of the city. The sappers neutralized the 5th explosive. Until May 2, any public events are prohibited in the city. In all regions, the militia was transferred to an enhanced regime of service, and in Dnepropetrovsk internal troops took to the streets.

The first explosion in Dnepropetrovsk thundered at 11:50 at a tram stop on Serov Street, near the Opera House. The second, near the Rodina cinema, the third and fourth, near the Globa park. All explosive devices were laid in ordinary city garbage bins and not far from each other, explosions occurred within a kilometer radius in the central part of the regional center.

Most experts believe that the explosive devices were probably shell-free - this is evidenced by the nature of the injured. People are injured by fragments of urns and other objects, and not by explosive utensils, most of them have chopped wounds of the lower extremities. Most of the victims were taken to the Mechnikov hospital. Five of them are in serious condition. One person had to amputate a hand.

On the fact of the bombings, police opened a criminal case, qualifying the incident as a terrorist attack. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vitaliy Zakharchenko, the governor of the region, Alexander Vilkul, immediately flew to Dnepropetrovsk. The president of the country called the bombings “a challenge for the country,” and promised to bring the best experts to the investigation.

"We know that there are victims. We understand that this is another challenge for us, for the whole country. And we will think about how to respond to it with dignity. I think we will figure it out," said the President of Ukraine.

Law enforcers urge all Dnepropetrovsk to be careful, pay attention to suspicious objects and immediately report it. Until May 2, any mass events were banned in the city. In all regions, the police were transferred to an enhanced duty regime.

The opposition will argue that the authorities are thus preparing for a state of emergency, while the pro-government forces will blame extremist oppositionists who are trying to destabilize the country.” I want to remind you that terrorist attacks were already organized in our country in order to extort money. And this version has the right to exist, "said Vladimir Fesenko, head of the Penta Center for Applied Political Studies.

Karasev: The purpose of the bombings is political

“If you distract from politics, you need to remember that Dnepropetrovsk is a specific city in every sense of the word.
