Car recorders in Austria were banned
The Austrian authorities have banned the use by private individuals of such a familiar gadget as a car registrar. For violation of this prohibition, the driver may face a fine of up to 10 thousand euros. The introduction of such a ban is due to the fact that confidential information may inadvertently get into the camera lens of a car DVR, which, according to the Austrian authorities, is a violation of the rights of those around them.
The ban on car DVRs in Austria was introduced after one law-abiding citizen of this country decided to undergo licensing of his DVR in the Commission for the Protection of Personal Data. In the event of a possible accident, the owner of the auto-registrar planned to provide video materials shot with the car registrar as evidence of his innocence to the court. The Commission for the Protection of Personal Data examined the citizen’s request and decided to prohibit recording from cars - moreover, the commission’s prohibition applies not only to DVRs, but also to shooting on various mobile gadgets.
The officials explained their decision in this way: a lot of people's faces, license plates of cars, information about housing and other property are stored in the device’s memory - this violates the rights of citizens. Allowed the Austrian car owners to record on video only the consequences of road accidents.

Авторегистраторы в Австрии оказались под запретом
Австрийские власти ввели запрет на использование частными лицами такого ставшего уже привычным гаджета, как автомобильный регистратор. За нарушение этого запрета водителю может грозить штраф в размере до 10 тысяч евро. Введение такого запрета связано с тем, что в объектив камеры автомобильного видеорегистратора может непреднамеренно попасть конфиденциальная информация, что, по мнению австрийских властей, является нарушением прав окружающих людей.
Запрет на авторегистраторы в Австрии был введен после того, как один законопослушный гражданин этой страны решил пройти лицензирование своего видеорегистратора в Комиссии по защите персональных данных. Владелец авторегистратора планировал в случае возможного ДТП предоставить видеоматериалы, снятые на автомобильный регистратор, в качестве доказательства своей невиновности в суд. Комиссия по защите персональных данных изучила запрос гражданина и приняла решение запретить вести запись из автомобилей — причем запрет комиссии касается не только видеорегистраторов, но также съемки на различные мобильные гаджеты.
Чиновники так объяснили свое решение: в памяти устройств сохраняются множество лиц людей, номерные знаки автомобилей, сведения о жилье и другом имуществе — это нарушает права граждан. Разрешили австрийским автовладельцам записывать на видео только последствия дорожно-транспортных происшествий.
