Together with the Vyazemsky local historians A.L. Kakuyev and I.V.Dolgushev, the authors of the book “The Debt of Memory” with lists of Soviet prisoners of war who tragically died in the Dulag No. 184 transit camp in Vyazma, they began to prepare a book for reprint.
The book “Debt of Memory” was released after processing the lists found in TsAMO of the Russian Federation and transferred to Smolensk by I. I. Ivlev, in Smolensk in 2005 with a circulation of 200 copies, and quickly sold out.
We plan to publish the second edition of the book as a Book of Memory about the defenders of the Fatherland who died in the Vyazma prisoner of war camp. In addition to the edited lists, we place in it family memoirs and photographs sent by relatives (more than 100 families sent), photographs of collective trips of relatives to Vyazma in 2008-2012, materials on military events near Vyazma and in the Moscow direction in 1941-1943, memoirs veterans, former prisoners of Dulag No. 184, search correspondence, archive of publications.
Financing of the publication was promised by the Prefecture of the Central Administrative District of Moscow, which, on behalf of the Mayor of Moscow, S.S. Sobyanina keeps in sight the question of perpetuating the memory of the defenders of Moscow who died in Dulag No. 184.
Currently, more than 200 families of dead soldiers from almost 40 regions of Russia, as well as from Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus, have been found by search engines of the International Association of Public Search Associations "People’s Memory of Defenders of the Fatherland", volunteers from regional search websites and forums in Russia and neighboring countries. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania and residing in the USA.
Many relatives of the victims were able to visit the place of death of their relatives in the city of Vyazma (since the fall of 2008, six collective bus trips have been organized, in which descendants of soldiers from the Republics of Mordovia and Tatarstan, Altai and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Moscow, Penza, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tula, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, Yaroslavl regions, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Klaipeda (Lithuania)).
