The court sentenced the leader of the organized crime group in Novosibirsk to 22 years in prison.
Businessman Alexander Trunov, found guilty of creating an organized criminal group operating for a long time on the territory of Novosibirsk, was sentenced to 22 years in prison by a decision of the Novosibirsk Regional Court on Tuesday, judge Lyudmila Bilyukova said.
“By partially adding up the sentence, Trunov will be finally sentenced to a prison term of 22 years,” the judge said.
Law enforcement agencies called this community the most powerful in the region. According to investigators, its participants were involved in a series of killings, extortion, and establishing control over profitable enterprises, RIA Novosti reports.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD reported, on December 9, a bill of indictment was approved against eight members of the criminal community led by Trunov.

The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Ivan Semchishin, approved the indictment in the criminal case against eight members of the criminal community led by Alexander Trunov, which had been operating for a long time in the territory of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region.
According to investigators, by the beginning of 1997, Trunov had created a criminal community, called in criminal circles “Trunovsky” by the name of its leader.
“To date, law enforcement agencies have established more than 30 participants in this criminal formation,” the report said.
The preliminary investigation bodies accused community members of committing 14 crimes, including banditry (Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), murders and attempted murders (Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), illicit trafficking in firearms (Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), extortion ( st.163 of the Criminal Code) and fraud (st.159 of the Criminal Code).
The gang was armed with 9 assault rifles, 11 pistols, 26 grenades and a large number of ammunition.
Gang members participated in preparations for attacks on citizens, and were also direct executors of the killings.
Between 1997 and 2009, they committed four murders and two attempted murders using firearms in the territory of Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk Region.

Earlier, the court extended the detention of the alleged leader of the famous criminal group Trunov and his associates until December 29.
Trunov was arrested on July 6, 2009, and arrested the next day.

Earlier, the Novosibirsk Regional Court sentenced Dmitry Buol, one of the gang members, to 17 years in prison in a maximum security colony. He was found guilty under five articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, including “participation in the criminal community”, “murder”.
Buol testified that the father and son of the Solodkins were involved in the Trunovskaya organized crime group, and also pointed to Trunov and Radchenko as leaders of a stable armed group created to attack citizens.
