Starting July 1, 2010, new rules for visiting and registering visitors at Belarusian Internet-sharing centers, including Internet cafes, come into force. To gain access to the Network it will be necessary to present a document proving the identity of the user. According to the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 646 dated April 29, 2010 “On Amendments and Additions to the Rules for the Provision of Telecommunication Services”, the points for collective use of the Internet, including Internet cafes, will be allowed after a preliminary identification of the user, IT reports. The account shall include the name, patronymic, last name of the visitor, as well as the type and number of the document allowing identification of the person and name of the issuing authority. In addition, at all points of collective use of the Internet, including Internet cafes, subscriber devices will be identified - all information about them (MAC address, IP addresses, date, time of connections, IP addresses of Internet resources accessed by the user ) will be recorded in electronic journals. All information about the user and the history of his stay in the Network will be stored for at least a year and issued at the request of the authorities conducting investigative and search activities.
