Chonburi Immigration Police have arrested a Russian fugitive, on the run since 2010 after he was convicted of serious drug offences in Russia and decided to flee to Thailand to avoid imprisonment. A notice from Interpol had been given to Immigration based in Jomtien indicating intelligence suggested he was residing somewhere in Pattaya after fleeing Russian in February 2010. Police Colonel Choosak, the Immigration Police Chief led a team to the Baan Suan Lalana Complex in Soi Chayapreuk in Jomtien where they were able to arrest Mr. Andrey Kozlov aged 30 who claimed during questioning that he was unable to understand English and refused to comment on the case apart from confirming his identity. Mr. Kozlov will now be subject to extradition procedures which will take place after Mr. Kozlov is transferred to the Immigration Detention Center in Bangkok.

Kozlov will now be extradited after being transferred to the immigration detention center in Bangkok.
