Secretary of Defense Andrew Robatan hurries to reassure everyone: information on lost devices was encrypted
Tatyana BEZRUKOVA - 11/25/2011
The UK Department of Defense has provided a report of lost or stolen property.

According to the Daily Mail, over the past year and a half, 188 laptops, 99 computers, 72 hard drives and 73 flash cards have disappeared from this ministry. Moreover, 21 laptops were lost “in one incident”, and this happened in Germany.

True, Secretary of Defense Andrew Robatan hastened to reassure everyone, stressing that all the information on those devices was encrypted or had other security systems. So there is nothing more to worry about.

By the way, the loss list is not limited to this. Employees of the ministry lost 18 mobile phones, 10 BlackBerry smartphones and 194 CD and DVD discs during this period.

As it turned out, such figures cannot be called shocking. So in 2008 in the same ministry 326 laptops disappeared, but in 2009 - “only” 129. The leadership of the ministry, apparently, has not yet decided how to comment on such jumping dynamics.

Meanwhile, Secretary Andrew Robatan said: “The Department of Defense takes every case of lost or stolen storage systems very seriously. We are taking active measures to prevent such cases ... Our ministry is large and complex, with more than 250,000 employees working all over the world on permanent and temporary bases. Frequent movement of equipment from one place to another means that some of the losses are almost inevitable ... "

Maybe it’s just that Russian intelligence began to work better ...

Whoever has lost will decrypt. And if this is a drain of desa, then the file with the key happened to be there. AI-AI-AI, what a misfortune.
