The official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is temporarily unavailable due to the large number of visitors, as well as possible DDoS attacks, the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"Problems with the site arose due to the large number of visitors in connection with information about the closure of the Internet resource EX.UA, as well as in connection with possible DDoS attacks," the Interior Ministry said.

Currently, experts are trying to restore the site.
We will remind, earlier on Tuesday, information appeared on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that police officers stopped the activity of the EX.UA file-sharing Internet resource for violating intellectual property rights. During searches in the office and data centers of the web resource, investigators seized 200 servers with a total amount of illegal content of more than 6,000 terabytes.

"The reason for initiating a criminal case under part 2 of article 176 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violation of copyright and related rights, was the appeal received by the representatives of leading world software manufacturers - international Adobe Systems corporations, addressed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Graphisoft Inc., etc., whose software products have long been illegally distributed through the EX.UA website, "the report said.

“The site, in fact, lies,” he stated and noted that most likely, this was the result of a call on social networks to attack the sites of government institutions.

The source noted that since last night, the Presidential Administration has been working hard to eliminate the consequences of a hacker attack.

At the same time, difficulties with the operation of the site of the head of state were fully manifested on Wednesday, January 1, around noon. At first, the database of official documents stopped working, giving an error when trying to enter it, and now the main page of the site is already periodically unavailable.

Information about the hacker attack was confirmed by presidential spokeswoman Daria Chepak. “From today on, the official website of the president of Ukraine is being attacked by unknowns,” she wrote on her blog on the website of the Ukrainian Truth online publication.

At the same time, you can find calls and specific tips on social networks on how to increase the pressure on the servers of the presidential site so that it does not withstand the load. The calls are related to the closure on Tuesday of the largest Ukrainian file-sharing portal EX.UA.
