Dear Stels!
If I pay money, I want to get the right level of services, and it does not depend on who the provider is ... a funeral home or a bank. Moreover, the bank is obliged to keep secret information from third parties ... both by law ... and by agreement with the client.
In our practice, there is no case when a bank would plead guilty to illegal entry and theft of information or money. If there was a fact of illegal penetration into the computer network of the bank, then it is simply beneficial for the bank to keep silent about it for all of us understandable reasons ... competition.
The facts of penetration and theft of information becomes known to injured customers not from the bank, but usually in other ways.
To obtain a certificate, as a rule, the minimum requirements must be fulfilled and no one does a maximum check.
At the same time, the system administrator or IT security officer does not always have an idea about the methods of illegal penetration; I’m not even talking about the average computer user.
In early January, it became known about the hacking of a computer network and the theft of credit card information in the companies Viza K.A.L., Israkart and Leumi-Card in Israel, hackers published data on the Internet of 26,000 customer credit cards. According to hackers, they have information on 400,000 credit cards. According to Israeli intelligence, in this attack, data was stolen for approximately 2,000,000 Israelis. Although these credit companies assure that the data was stolen from a couple of hundred to 3,000 credit cards, while these companies also have a security certificate, which is written on the websites of these companies. But it’s not a certificate that gives security ... but painstaking and everyday work to ensure security.
