Находку обнаружил полковник в отставке, почетный пенсионер МВД РС (Я) во время традиционной весенней уборки на своем дачном участке. Вот что рассказывает об этом удивительном случае сам счастливчик:
– Я приехал тогда убрать снег, покормить собак, да и взять дрель из летней кухни. Ремонт в городской квартире делаем с зятем. Приехал на дачу после обеда, хорошо, что она неподалеку от центра Якутска стоит. И вот, расчистил я площадку перед кухней от снега, чтобы открыть дверь. Но дрель на прежнем месте не обнаружил и, когда закрывал кухню, заметил, как что-то блеснуло в земле. Еще ругнулся про себя, опять внуки что-то разбили. Но приглядевшись, увидел – вроде не похоже на стеклянный осколок, скорее на булыжник, но какой-то странный – прозрачный… Размером с небольшое куриное яйцо.

Ну, зять на это: «Алмаз, алмаз», тут же достал для верности лупу из портфеля, прищурился – ну точно алмаз! Самый настоящий! Я от переизбытка чувств как заорал: - Вот он! Вот он, алмаз моей мечты! А он в ответ смеется. От радости за меня, наверное…
В настоящее время, на месте, где был найден драгоценный камень, уже идут изыскательные работы по разработке будущего месторождения. Но специалисты уже называют его как весьма перспективное. Пробы почв переданы в лабораторию. Результаты будут известны уже в 2013 году.
А пенсионеру, нашедшему этот бесценный камень, уже вручили премию от государства в размере 10 тысяч рублей и благодарственное письмо от Минприроды России.
