А в России еще бы назначили служебную проверку по этому факту и после месячных разборок в возбуждении уголовного дела в отношении шерифа по статье ( превышение полномочий ) отказали бы.

это в лучшем случае, в худшем - возбудили бы в отношении шерифа уголовное дело и уволили бы шерифа из органов задним числом. Дескать, хороший ты парень, шериф, приходи, когда уголовное дело в отношении тебя прекратят
