Case. Applied task: domain search. On the example of Russian public organizations

Source

In practice Competitive intelligence , important characteristics of the tool are, in particular, parameters such as efficiency, simplicity, cheapness and speed. I will show you with a concrete example - how the domain search operator allows you to solve some applied problems.

I would also like to remind you that in this case, an example was the search for an answer to a request that I read while surfing blogs. In fact, this kind of task is a typical, often encountered.

So, in the blog of the famous TV presenter from Yekaterinburg [info] Evgeny Enin, a question was raised about whether there really are facts of financing Russian political movements from abroad? I will show the algorithm of a screening study that allows you to answer this holivar-generating question convincingly. "[DLMURL =" https://onair1.livejournal.com/352228.html "] I want to see the trace of the shoe of the State Department [/ DLMURL]" - in particular, said a respected blogger.

The solution of the problem.

Step 1. The article "List of CIA-funded Russian public organizations" is quickly on the Internet. It cites a certain one - I quote: " A list of Russian organizations that received grants through the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in 2009, according to the Fund’s own annual report ". (image clickable)

A source with a Russian-language text is unlikely to be impartial, and therefore try to verify what is written in it.

Step 2 We find in Google the site of this "National Endowment for Democracy". Here it is: [DLMURL] https://ned.org/ [/ DLMURL]

Step 3 For shooting, look inside the site the word "Russia", as far as Google knows: > like this < .
It can be seen that the word "Russia" is there, and it appears in the context of monetary amounts (the picture is clickable).

Step 4 We narrow down the request - in the context of the material being checked. We look there the word "report" along with the word "Russia" > like this < (the picture is clickable).

Step 5 Open the document noted in the previous screenshot in the results (the picture is clickable) .:
[DLMURL="https://www.ned.org/publications/annual-reports/2009-annual-report/eurasia/description-of-2009-grants/russia"] https://www.ned.org/publications / annual- ... nts / russia [/ DLMURL]

I didn’t compare it letter by letter, but, at first glance, it coincided with that in the Russian-language publication cited at the beginning of my post.

Step 6 Now we look - is there a connection between this fund, say, with the State Department. In this case, this did not require additional calls to Google (the picture is clickable).

Page [DLMURL="https://ned.org/about"] About NED [/ DLMURL]:

We post information about all of our grants and activities on this Web site and are subject to multiple layers of oversight by the US Congress, the Department of State , and independent financial audit.

PS Let me remind you again: in this post there is no reasoning - who is good and who is bad - “red”, “white” or “Makhnovists”. Here you can see how, using a simple domain search operator, you can quickly find an invoice, if necessary.

[DLMURL]https://ned.org/[/DLMURL]

[DLMURL="https://www.ned.org/publications/annual-reports/2009-annual-report/eurasia/description-of-2009-grants/russia"]https://www.ned.org/publications/annual- ... nts/russia[/DLMURL]

[DLMURL="https://ned.org/about"]About NED[/DLMURL]:

We post information about all of our grants and activities on this Web site and are subject to multiple layers of oversight by the US Congress, the Department of State, and independent financial audit.
