Detectives from around the world discussed their rights in Yekaterinburg
In honor of the 20th anniversary of private investigation in Yekaterinburg on December 7–8, the 16th International Scientific and Practical Conference of the Association of Russian Detectives NP is held. This year, Russian detectives will discuss the legal regulation of detective activities.
Today in Russia there is no separate article that would regulate the rights and obligations of detectives, in contrast to Western colleagues. Moreover, detectives believe that they need their own law on private detective activity (in the current legislation there is only a law regulating the work of both detectives and private security agencies - the "Law on private detective and private security activities").
- The Association of Russian Detectives was created eight years ago. The main idea is to help each other throughout the country. Now the detective can not spend money on expensive flights from city to city, but ask his colleague to check or get the necessary information, ”says Alexei Shcherbenev, president of the Association of Russian Detectives NP. - Our association helps detectives work in more comfortable conditions. At the conference, we summed up the work for the year.
Detectives also discussed the introduction of the article "Rights of a private detective" in the Federal Law. In addition, the law plans to introduce a clause on the right of inquiry to state law enforcement agencies. Today, detectives can have access to information from security officials only through personal contacts with law enforcement officers, which is dangerous due to its corruption potential.
According to Alexei Shcherbenev, the best option for the successful work of detectives would be a special base for detectives, which would be provided to them by security forces.
According to the chairman of the board of directors of the Regional Security Center, private detective Ruslan Mineev, there are about 1,600 detectives in Russia and about 50 in Yekaterinburg. True, not all detectives with a license are engaged in detective activities.
