For the first time in Russia, a sentenced to life sentence was released

The life-sentenced maniac-dissociator from the "Polar Owl" was released on parole and moved to Moscow.

Life-sentenced 63-year-old Anvar Masalimov was released from the colony "Polar Owl" in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. A man can now be in Moscow. This is the first case in the Russian Federation when a criminal convicted for life imprisoned, writes "Moscow's comsomolets".

He is generally the only one among the life-long prisoners who received a free ticket. And now, once sentenced to death for the brutal murder, Anvar Masalimov walks, according to the latest information, in Moscow. The Federal Service for the Execution of Sentences believes that formally this is not parole, but the result of a retraining of the sentence (although parole is indicated in some court documents).

Be that as it may, a precedent has been set. A man who escaped the death penalty at one time was in the wild. However, in recent years, the number of life-sentenced convicts who may qualify for parole, since they have served 25 years, is rapidly approaching half a thousand

63-year-old Anvar Masalimov on August 17, 1991, he brutally killed a pensioner. Everything happened in a private house in the village of Komsomolsk, Tomsk Region.

The attacker strangled a roommate, dismembered the body and burned it. He had previously spent 15 years in prison for another murder. The second murder and committed in a state of intoxication.

If it weren’t for the neighbor who had found meat in the toilet, no one would have known about the death of the owner of the house: Masalimov told everyone that he “left the house.” Guilt Anwar has been fully proven.

Initially, the offender was sentenced to death, but later it was replaced by life imprisonment.

The maniac-dissociator Anvar Masalimov, who was released from the most severe prison in Russia - the Polar Owl colony for those sentenced to life imprisonment - was serving his term in the company of Alexander Pichushkin, known as the “Bitsevsky maniac.” Pichushkin, according to the Moskovsky Komsomolets, as well as Masalimov, hopes for parole.

The Federal Penitentiary Service has denied the release of a life-sentenced person under parole

Federal Penitentiary Service commented information previously published in the media about a prisoner released on parole. The release really took place, but in 2016 and due to the re-qualification of the criminal case.

Information about the release on parole appeared in the Moskovsky Komsomolets. The publication noted that this wording is mentioned in the case file (see. “In Russia, a life-sentenced prisoner was first released” )

“This information is not true, since convicted M. was released from IK-18 of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in 2016 by decision of the Vologda Regional Court in connection with the re-qualification of his criminal case. On June 22, 2016, IK-18 received the original decision of the Vologda Regional Court on the release of convicted M. on the basis of Art. 10 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation from further serving a sentence in connection with the adoption of a law that improves the situation of a convicted person. On the same day M. was released from the correctional institution, ”the department said.
