NTV explained the removal of the story of torture in Chechnya

The NTV channel named the reason for removing from the air the plot of the abductions and torture in Chechnya. As stated by RIA Novosti in the press service of the channel, the report, it was decided to "send for revision."
The agency’s interlocutor called the situation when the plot was broadcast in the Far East and not shown in the European part of Russia as “common practice”.
Earlier, the Committee against Torture reported that a piece with a report on the work of Chechen human rights defenders was cut from the release of the Central Television program on October 30. It also talked about the fact that local security officials impede the activities of employees of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
“Gazeta.ru” noted that the plot did not go on the air by order of the NTV Director General Vladimir Kulistikov. The press service of the television company did not specify at what level the corresponding decision was made.
In May 2011, it was reported that the plot about the former cellmate of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, Alexander Kuchma, was withdrawn from the NTV program "Central Television" by order of Kulistikov. Then Kuchma gave an interview to Gazeta.ru, in which he spoke about the circumstances of the attack on Khodorkovsky in April 2006.
