SBU employees stopped the illegal activities of a criminal group whose members illegally sold confidential databases of government agencies.
According to the press center of the service, on November 28, SBU officers detained two representatives of one of the consulting companies in the capital who were trying to sell the “State Register of Voters” of a national volume during a special operation on a hot one.
In addition, the criminals tried to sell information from the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations of Ukraine and a lot of other information, in particular regarding representatives of state authorities.
For discs with information, the attackers wanted to get 550 thousand hryvnias.
It was established that businessmen received information through their own connections in institutions and organizations of the capital.
During searches conducted by the SBU in the office premises of the enterprise, a server was seized that was used by representatives of a commercial structure to store and duplicate the databases of the State Automobile Inspection, the State Statistics Service, the State Tax Administration of Ukraine, banking databases, data from healthcare institutions, as well as magnetic media with confidential information.
Now expert studies of the seized items are being carried out, according to their results a criminal case will be instituted under Art. 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized marketing or distribution of information with limited access).
