While the schoolgirl was in the trunk, the kidnapper bought off from traffic cops.

Komsomolskaya Pravda learned new details about the release of Rostov schoolgirl Dasha Popova - and very scandalous. It turns out that involuntary participants in the operation to search for a third-grader became ... traffic police officers.
Recall, 8-year-old Dasha Popova disappeared on the afternoon of September 19 on her way home from school. Eight days the girl was searched all over the world:
20,000 volunteers combed through the gates and groves, the police interrogated more than 250 suspects ...
As it turned out, all this time she was kept in her car by 57-year-old Alexander Maximov, the owner of a wedding salon in one of the Rostov markets. With the help of the kidnapped girl, he wanted to improve his financial affairs - to demand a ransom from his parents. He let Dasha out of the car only out of necessity, and kept it on bread and water. He also lived in a car. And he drank heavily all the time, cutting circles on rural roads near Rostov on his Hyundai - ostensibly collecting his courage to call the girl's parents demanding money. In one of these trips, he was stopped by traffic police.
“He himself spoke about what happened during the interrogation,” a law enforcement source told KP. - It was September 27th. The inspectors stopped him, and Maximov suggested "solving the problem." Those demanded 15,000 rubles. The kidnapper had no money, and he offered them a ride to his ex-wife, who also works in the market. They agreed. He drove in his car, the traffic cops followed. And Dasha at that time was in the trunk!
True, the investigators say that the traffic cops didn’t get the money, as the investigators say: when they arrived at the market, the ex-wife didn’t give anything, and then the traffic police themselves disappeared. Of course, this is not at all believed in. But to ask Maximov himself no longer succeeds: a few days ago he hanged himself in his cell. According to one version, they “helped” him to die (for details, see kp.ru).

New details of the detention of Alexander Maksimov, who was accused of abducting eight-year-old Dasha Popova, became known and committed suicide yesterday. As it became known to Komsomolskaya Pravda, the release of the child became possible thanks to ransomware.
“When the man was driving in a car, he was stopped by the traffic police,” a law enforcement source said. - They smelled alcohol from the suspect and offered to "solve the problem" for 15 thousand rubles. He didn’t have that kind of money with him. He went to see his ex-wife, who holds a retail outlet in the market. Following him was the car of car inspectors. All this time, Dasha Popova was in the trunk of Alexander Maksimov’s car.
The denouement occurred on the market when a man asked for money for car inspectors, and then told the woman that the problems did not end there, showing the child in the trunk. Now the identities of car inspectors are being established.

The story of the missing Rostov third-grader Dasha Popova ended: after a week-long search, the girl was finally found, the crime was solved. "Komsomolskaya Pravda" became aware of new details of this high-profile case. We asked for comment on their former UBOP operative, Alexander Proshev, who had at one time solved very high-profile crimes, including kidnapping.
Eight-year-old Dasha Popova disappeared at about two in the afternoon of September 19. Returning from school, the girl went to the porch, rang the intercom. She answered the elder sister Nastya, who opened the door to the entrance. But the girl did not reach the apartment on the second floor ...
Literally forty minutes after the disappearance (the mobile child did not answer), the girl’s mother dialed “02”. And at the same time she wasn’t kicked (usually, after all, a statement about missing persons is accepted on the third day after the disappearance, and within ten days a search case is opened).
Alexander PROSHEV:
“There is just nothing surprising here.” Because not so long ago, when the shaft of cases with pedophiles began, the installation was given: in all cases of minors, especially small children, to react immediately, the search should begin immediately. And even though in most cases the children are on their own (after all, they often run away for everyday reasons: a quarrel with their parents, a bad grade at school, etc.), anyway, every case is immediately taken under control. By the way, before, in my time, this was not.
Eight days the girl was searched all over Rostov and beyond. Everyone knew about the state of emergency, any information about the search became news No. 1. The best forces were sent to the investigation, experts from Moscow were called in, volunteers (there were almost 20 thousand of them — an unprecedented number for Rostov), the police and the military examined more than 250 apartments, questioned over 200 people. The city was literally hung with leaflets that the girl was missing. But all in vain. As usual, terrible rumors spread that a gang of pedophiles was operating in the city ... The investigation opened a criminal case under the article “murder”.
“Several versions have been put forward,” a law enforcement source told KP. - First - a pedophile rapist attacked Dasha. The second is kidnapping for ransom, as the girl’s stepfather Arshak Teknejyan is in business. It was embarrassing that the size of his business was, frankly speaking, small, and they usually made a buyback offer right away, until his relatives contacted the police. Plus, he himself appointed a reward of 1 million rubles for information about the child. We hoped, of course, that she was alive, but thirty percent were allotted chances for this version.
- The version about the rapist and the appearance of the criminal case on the “murder” is a completely normal practice. Firstly, alas, there are more and more cases of criminal disappearance of children. Secondly, it barely became known that there were no understandable motives for leaving home, it was logical to assume the worst. Of course, all other versions are always worked out in full. Just one is given priority and the main group of employees is working on them, others are led by the rest of the detectives. All information flows to the operational headquarters. At the end of the day (and sometimes several times a day), group leaders conduct a brainstorming session. Moreover, attention is paid even to the most incredible at first glance assumptions. As for the volunteers, it’s just great that someone else’s misfortune began to find such a response among the people. It is clear that they are not dedicated to all the subtleties and details of the investigation, they are given tasks which site, for example, needs to be circumvented, checked, issued instructions, and employees who control the process are attached. Nevertheless, the efforts of law enforcement agencies alone would not be possible to carry out the amount of work they did. Previously, precious hours were spent on this, while detectives themselves “sniffed out” literally every blade of grass in any forest belt to find a trace.
As it turned out, the version, which initially took only a third of the chances, turned out to be correct. Entrepreneur Alexander Maximov from the small town of Aksai, right near Rostov, one day realized that his business was about to collapse. There was no one else to borrow - and so in debt as in silk. And here in an underground casino 500 thousand fanned. So the 57-year-old uncle decided to abduct a child and ask for a ransom.
“And what,” he later explained to investigators, “reports of the disappearance of children are now coming one after another.”
He chose the daughter of much more successful businessman Teknejyan as a victim. However, officially in the investigation they say that the idea of the abduction came to the loser businessman, and in the past - to the threat inspector (he was expelled with scandal from the organs after the attempt on his wife - Maximov shot him with a pistol from jealousy, for which he served 11 years) spontaneously . Like, I saw the first decently dressed girl that came across and decided to grab her, then to demand a ransom. He burst after her into the porch, put a knife to his throat, ordered him to be silent and led him out into the courtyard where his Hyundai Elantra stood.
I drove her 8 days in the Aksay district in the back seat of the car. I slept there myself. He drank all the time. When it was necessary to leave for the “supplement”, he put Dasha in the trunk.
And then, on September 27, he suddenly decided to come - again according to official figures - to his former common-law spouse and told her that he had stolen the girl: supposedly on that day he was going to demand half a million rubles as a ransom. She called the police, the girl was released. Maximov rushed to the race, but an hour later he was seized.
But they will no longer judge him. On Tuesday, the kidnapper was found dead in the isolation ward ...
- Of course, it cannot be ruled out that the decision to abduct the child was spontaneous - given that the person who was drinking, acted on emotions. On the other hand, the former opera could not, in theory, not foresee that his car - an unfamiliar one in this courtyard - would be remembered by witnesses: the same old women are one of the main sources of operational data. Especially in broad daylight. Moreover, how did he determine that her parents would be able to pay such money? In appearance? It is much more appropriate, given that he trades in the market, to inquire about other entrepreneurs, find out who has children, calculate their routes, etc. As for the personality of ex-wife Maximov, I think the investigation is closely engaged in elucidating her role in this case. As a version, they can consider that she passed it precisely in the expectation of a future reward. That is why her involvement in the abduction still needs to be proved.
